Reason for running

submitted by the candidate or their team
My children and their future! I professionally advocate for healthy environments, well-connected communities and address eco-anxiety in kids. What I have watched is our public policy deteriorate as a NFP leader and as a Mom!

I have heard for several years the frustrations from other Moms about the lack of support and growing costs to live in a healthy and sustainable way here in Canada. I had one Mom recently share her family was considering leaving Canada because the costs and lack of support had become too great. This should not be the thoughts in our community!

I have watched our public healthcare crumble while I worked in both Long-Term Care and Acute care environments. I have watched waitlists grow to unreasonable measure for community and health supports while the lack of accessible and affordable housing compound this already very complex issue. I also see the fear my children and other children have as they sense the doom from the geo-political environment of our time. We must CHANGE!

I am someone that consistently acts with integrity and for the greater good in mind. As a trained Master of Social Work, I have worked and volunteered in service over self my whole career. I am certified in the Speed of Trust and act with the 13 principles of trust every day! I have spent my career and life in service, all in the quest to leave this place better than we found it. I have advocated for improved healthcare, access for LGBTQ+ seniors services, women and animal rights, and now work to advance children’s deep connections to themselves and others.

It is my number one goal that everyone experiences the level of support they require to thrive in society. We can be raised up together, protecting each other’s well-being and that of the planet while ensuring a bright future for the next 7 generations!

I understand deeply our social issues while also carry advance financial acumen and experiencing balancing complex and multi-million dollar budget. I am fiscally responsible and can abalone need with resources. I am the candidate that lives and knows our community intimately, with children in our schools, attending several local sports clubs, involved in local activism, and participate in many social opportunities around Town ensuring our dollar and commitments support our local economy.
