As we approach another provincial election, we must carefully consider the choices before us. At a time when our economy and sovereignty were under threat from our closest trading partner, our Premier and his party—holding an absolute majority at Queen’s Park—chose to dissolve the assembly and call for an early election. Instead of demonstrating leadership and tackling the issue head-on, they pushed us into unnecessary uncertainty. The tariff threat that was cited as the reason for this election was later paused by the U.S., proving that this abrupt decision—and the public funds spent on it—was unwarranted.We cannot continue to support leaders and parties that make rash, self-serving decisions instead of acting in the best interests of the people. For nearly a decade, these same parties have failed to deliver meaningful job creation for Oshawa residents. They have stood by as the cost of living—including housing, gas, and groceries—has soared, making everyday life harder for working families.It’s time for a change.
