Sharon Buchanan will run for the People's Alliance in Albert-Riverview.

Born in Gunningsville and raised in Riverview, Sharon has spent much of her life here in Albert-Riverview. She has deep family ties to the area through her maternal side, the Sniders, and her paternal side, the Crossmans/Mittons. Along with her husband of 36 years, Sharon has raised two amazing daughters and is now devoted to an incredible young boy who calls her "Grammy."

Sharon grew up believing that anything worth having is worth fighting for, and anything worth doing is worth doing with everything you have.

"At no time more than present, with healthcare, affordable housing, mental health, addictions, and overall affordability in a critical state, has there been more need for someone to fight for the people of New Brunswick and the services they deserve. Furthermore, the need for true, meaningful change has never been greater. We cannot continue to follow the same paths, people, stale ideas, and broken promises that we have mindlessly followed for the past 30 years and expect change to happen magically. It does not work that way. You must make it happen, which means doing things differently and voting differently. Supporting different people, different parties. Being open to different ideas, different directions. But I believe, with your support, we can bring about this change and create a better future for Albert-Riverview."

Many of you may know that this is not Sharon's first "kick at the can," having offered in the 2018 provincial election and again in 2020, performing well and garnering staunch support both times. Well, guess what? Sharon's not a quitter; she does not give up when she believes in something. One thing that Sharon believes deeply, is that NB'ers deserve better. Furthermore, she strongly believes that through the People's Alliance, she can play a strong role in giving them that. Her resilience and commitment are truly inspiring.

"The residents of Albert-Riverview deserve better than they've been getting. I don't believe that they're going to get it from a parachute candidate who has represented two other ridings and has no real stake in the game, nor are they going to get it from the Liberal party, which has never really represented or even understood the needs of the residents of Albert-Riverview."

With more than 20 years of experience as a people-leader, more than twelve of them leading a virtual team, Sharon believes that forming strong, respectful, and cooperative teams to get the job done is her strength. “When you lead a team of sometimes more than 20 people of various backgrounds, experiences, and cultures, people you’ve never met, and yet you pull them together and be effective, that speaks well of building relationships.”

The People's Alliance is an inclusive party with financially conservative, socially centrist values … what Sharon calls "Conservative with a Heart." Sharon is not interested in playing the standard political games – something she is learned over the past ten years of involvement, but she is interested in working hard to represent your interests, be your voice, and promote your quality and standard of life. She hopes that you will give her that opportunity. Her commitment to the people of NB is unwavering, and she is dedicated to serving the residents of Albert-Riverview with all her heart.
