Reason for running

submitted by the candidate or their team
Canada faces great challenges as we struggle to improve on Climate Action, Affordable Housing, maintain a Livable Income for our residents and adapting to a changing Job market. We must focus on solutions that are sustainable, while delivering results within the next four years.

We now face two existential threats - one to our sovereignty from the U.S. and one to our security from climate destabilization. The Green Party of Canada is commited to protecting

our independence from foreign adversaries and solving our climate crisis. This is the foundation of all of our decision making, whether that be housing, poverty or protecting our economic strength. Determined political action needs to be taken now. The current federal government has failed to foresee the threat caused by our over-dependence on U.S. trade

and military procurement, and has missed key targets in greenhouse gas emission reductions. The status quo can no longer be our pathway forward to a healthy and sustainable nation.”
